At Sun 7 Designs founder and owner Valery Klassen's blankets are built to outlast a few stages of childhood. “I use Minky dimple-dot fabric,” Valery says. “It’s durable and soft like velvet. It can be washed thousands of times and the dots will stand up to it. I made my niece a blanket when she was born. She is seven now and the blanket still looks like new.”

Sun 7 Designs officially opened for business in 2012 after Valery happily left her corporate job to concentrate on making baby blankets. She started sewing blankets for expecting family members and friends in 2008. “Really, I’ve been sewing all my life,” Valery says. “Ever since I was 10. I made my children’s clothes, and now I’m doing their babies’ blankets.”
