Awful Service Department. Too Bad I am due for a new vehicle!
My wife and I bought a brand new vehicle with Sun Valley Honda in June 2018 We traded in our old Honda for a new one because we have always found that they are very reliable. When we went to register our vehicle, we were given the wrong Bill of Sale and couldn't register it. We had go back to the dealership and to get the right one. Also, when we went to the Registry the second time we weren't given the Nvis for new vehicles, so Sun Valley Honda had to deliver it the Registry. When we bought t
Service department is horrible. Honestly it makes me never want to buy a Honda again I cant wait till my cause is out from warranty then I can get it fixed somewhere better.
Im reading these reviews and it is the exact same thing that I experienced, I had both situations happen to me: -cheap oil change just to get you in there, then they come out with $3000 worth the maintenance. -got some recall work done and they came out with a $2400 list of work that needed to be done. I got a second opinion and 4/5 things on my list were false. I have since got the necessary repair work done and it has cost me only 1000 out of a potential 5000!
Our salesman was very thorough even for being new. The whole process was very easy and felt no pressure whatsoever. Would highly recommend.
Not happy!!! brought my car in for an oil change. When I left there I felt my car was a write-off. Things wrong--oil pan gasket leaking, transmission pan leaking, steering rack leaking, front shock boots torn--total repairs needed--$2200. I took it to another garage next day and the owner and mechanic came to me in 10 minutes and said there was absolutely "nothing" wrong with my car !! How can you get away with this?? Thanks to the second garage for a second opinion. Now I can get some rest.
I went in for an oil change, and was told that I was due for a transmission fluid and brake fluid change too. I got those done and drove up to Edmonton only to find that I'd leaked brake fluid the entire way and couldn't stop properly. I got it fixed and asked Sun Valley Honda to reimburse me for all original services plus repairs. GM was very patronizing and only wanted to pay for the repair despite the major safety risk they put me in. I don't recommend anyone to go here.

We take your safety very seriously. We created an unsafe situation through our mistake. I wish we could undo what happened. We are happy to provide a full refund. We will most certainly be reviewing this with our Mechanic to ensure it never happens again. I apologize if I offended you. I tried my best to repeatedly convey our apologies and express our concern. We make mistakes. But we really do care. You are clearly and justifiably upset. If there is more we can do please let me know.
Sun Valley has a GREAT $25 promo on oil changes (if you ask for it, if not they charge you full price). Then when you take your vehicle in for a $25 oil change they give you $1800 in recommended maintenance. Knowing something wasn't with just 80,000kms, we immediately took car to widely respected local mechanic. 4/5 of the recommendations were completely unnecessary and simply a money grab! Sun Valley isn't doing $25 oil changes to be nice, they're looking to get more money from you!

We have no record of a Trevor Adams visiting our dealership. However Bryan Leitch described a very similar situation in an email he sent us. We checked Bryan's invoice and he was charged $24.95 for his oil change. He emailed us and explained that he had 3 of the 5 recommendations performed at another shop. The other shop disagreed with our recommendation that Bryan's compliance bushings and steering gear be replaced. We stand by our recommendation. We make our recommendations based on the inspection guidelines laid out by the company that engineered and manufactured Bryan's car. We have requested that Bryan attend our dealership so we can show him what we have recommended and why. As of June 22, 2015 Bryan has not returned our calls or emails.
A week ago we walked into Sun Valley Honda, the motor in our Nissan had lost power and the Nissan dealership couldn't guarantee looking at it that day. We were driving across Canada for my daughter's graduation. We walked up to the service desk stating we needed exceptional service as the door promised. I can honestly say they delivered. They confirmed we needed a new motor and gave us a great deal to the work for us. They set up a great rate with Enterprise, offered us a courtesy car and gave us a ride to pick up the rental. Within a couple of hours we were back on the road heading to my daughter's grad. Yesterday we picked up our Nissan and we are back on the road heading home. Thank you Sun Valley for taking the stress out of what could have ruined our road trip. My daughter thanx you too.
I read the post above and it matches my recent experience almost exactly with the local Honda dealership. Went into this dealership to deal with a trade-in and in turn they wasted an hour of my time. Sales person must've made 5-6 trips to the sales manager's office and I never did get a final price to start dealing with. Went out of town for my vehicle needs and was very happy with the customer service I received elsewhere. Was told this dealership had changed their ways with the name change, I can confirm that is not the case. I've been to Honda dealers in Lethbridge and Calgary and they do not operate this way, period!
My Wife and I went to this dealership looking for a new Civic (our first car). Test drove one with the same sales agent twice before agreeing to purchase and sign papers with them. They had blue and black in stock, we asked how long it would take to get a silver model in. The sales person checked with the sales manager for several minutes, came back and told us, "we can have it in by next week". We went through all the paperwork and thought it was a done deal. We even asked, "are you SURE it will be here within the next week or so?", he replied, "I don't get paid until you get your car". We thought that was a strange answer looking back. A week later, my father went into the dealership just to check on our purchase. He spoke to the sales manager directly and she told him, "I never said their car would be here in a week, we told them a month". This was a blatant lie as my father was there during our paper signing. They conveniently didn't put an arrival date on our agreement, which we obviously should've demanded. We then tried contacting our sales agent three times and he refused to return any of our calls. We made a trip in person to try and get our deposit back and were denied by the sales manager. Very rude and arrogant attitudes from everybody and we were absolutely lied to about the availability. We then called a few nearby Honda dealerships, Went to another dealer and received tremendous service. No surprises, car was in stock, block heater, floor mats and all basics were included in price! This dealership also wanted to tack on $1,000 in additional costs (block heater, floor mats, etc). Was not impressed to say the least!
