Randy down to earth, has great selection of bikes and is incredibly thorough. I learnt so many crucial things that have already saved my life several times over. Before the course I was trying to teach myself and constantly stalling the bike and struggling on tight maneuvers. I think I was in the class of the student that posted the may2017 review. The student having a negative attitude and refusing to participate in the exercises and mentally failing before even trying, was what I saw.
Randy is by Far the best instructor around - he's patient and teaches in a way that you feel at ease - not intimidated by the bike at all. His MST pass rate is High and he even arranges it for you, with a practice session the day of - before the test. Don't bother going to any of the other courses here in town - Randy truly knows his stuff.. !
Randy was an excellent instructor. The detailed care and clear guidance that he offered in his advanced theory program has become central to how I ride a bike and the more I ride, the more it's all coming together for me. The five people in the course were all at different levels. Randy took the time to care for everyone individually. You get what you put into it - practice as much as you can while having Randy there for guidance. Cost very fair for the intensive, thorough course. Randy's a pro!
I cannot speak highly enough of Randy & his training course. His main focus is ensuring that students once released to the streets are as safe as possible. The theory portion of the course is taught in his home, I found that put a very personal touch on and by the time you do the practical training in the lot it feels like you are being taught by a friend in the company of other friends. I highly recommend Cedar Motorcycle Riding School for anyone contemplating getting into riding. Steve T.
Randy took care to explain the reasons behind his instructions; that made the possible consequences of bad riding habits and practices more evident. The hands on training provided opportunity to ride different style bikes, and the differences in handling between a trail bike and a street bike were eye-opening. Randy has lots of experiences that he shares, and he makes/keeps the learning opportunity fun. I would certainly recommend Cedar Motorcycle to anyone learning to ride.
I can't disagree more with above two comments. Brand new to riding; felt listened to, comfortable, safe, and passed my test with no issue. I felt confident after the four days and felt comraderie with the four others in my class. Re: house. Dogs outside. And guests were previous students dropping by to watch and practice after class while we practiced our manoeuvres. All previous students invited back anytime. There was definitely a friendly vibe between everyone. No complaints.
Terrible experience. Took the 4 day motorcycle training course. If you're struggling expect to be ignored. Trainer has no back-up plan for a struggling student. Left the course feeling like I'd paid 800.00 to 'keep up' rather than receive training. Trainer is constantly on his phone and entertaining 'guests' who stop by, as well. Don't waste your money unless you are a very quick learner or have previous riding experience.

How long do you think the rest of the students should to wait for you to catch on? If you crash multiple times, can't balance, panic and run into the fence, it's not unreasonable for me to suggest you should give up riding. It sucks, but sometimes you have to try before you can fail. Even a math class expects you to keep up. I allow twice the time most people take to master a maneuver. I'm sorry you feel you wasted your time. I do feel you are a danger to yourself if you continue to ride.
I took this course a few years back. Ugh. If you want to sit through a week of the most annoying dude in the world telling awful jokes, by all means, pay him the 700 or so bucks. He makes Kat Dennings look like Louis CK. Also, he runs the theory part of the course out of his house, which is absolutely disgusting. The entire house is covered in a thick layer of dog grime. Clean your house once in a while dude. At least your dogs are cute (albeit, not very well trained). Worst...Instructor...Ever

I had to YouTube both of the people you mention. They're actually pretty funny, so I have to take that as a complement. I'm assuming however that you don't like my sense of humour. Sorry. Yes, the house can get dusty sometimes. I am usually on top of it, but sometimes life gets in the way. At the end of the day, are you here to learn to ride, or critique my house cleaning skills? I take that as legitimate feedback, and I will take that under advisement.
