we went to the Akita Sushi in Bradford, Ontario. Not a good experience at all. Everything that came to the table looked old and dried out. Sushi rolls were small and falling apart. They looked like they had been unrolled refilled and re rolled. The miso soup was made from a package. I can do that at home. Way overpriced for what was presented. The staff also was not particularly friendly. So disappointing as we are very familiar with the culture as we spend considerable time in Japan.
Its not Japanese sushi restaurant. The staff all speak Mandarin. Its a chinese restaurant that attempts to make Japanese cuisine. Plus the english language of staff is horrible.
Hands down the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. Went there on a Saturday night with a table of 8, from the moment we got there we didn't feel welcomed. Every waitress and waiter that served us was cold and very unfriendly. They left us for VERY long periods of time , rarely checked in to see if we needed anything to the point we had to wave our hands and at one point had to get up to have them come over. Mind you the place was COMPLETEY empty. Food was meh . Will never go back
I haven't gone to any other sushi place so I have nothing to compare them to but I still think their food is amazing. They're the reason I love sushi so much. They were the first place I ever had sushi at and it's because of them that I've become such a huge fan of the Japanese cusine.
Akita serves the best sushi I had. The staff is wonderful, making an effort to remember and chat with regulars. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It was great when it opened and they have improved it even more with aquariums, 2 tvs, and beautiful decor. They also show appreciation for their customers. I remember one time when I was ordering take out of my favorite dishes. I was a couple dollars short so had to remove something from my order. I was given my entire order for just the amount I had. I would and have recommended Akita to my family and friends. Go have lunch there. You won't be disappointed.
Since Akita opened we have gone to eat there at least once a month. The service is very good and the food is always very fresh. We have taken a lot of friends and family there to try it out and most haven't eaten sushi ever and they loved it! I highly recommend Akita to everyone.
