This place made my grandson hate school. He is about to start JK and he is already crying and begging not to go. Thanks Streetsville Children's Centre for damaging my grandson.
Jacky the owner doesn’t know how to talk to you when there is a problem. My son has autism and I put him in the daycare because both my husband and I are working. She agreed to keep him there from 9 am to 12:30 pm as I finish work at 12. She recently told me that I need to pick up my son earlier because he’s too much to handle for the daycare staff. She knew he had asd from the start but she still took us in. Now she’s yelling at me at the daycare and being very disrespectful. Worst day care!
I would highly recommend this school. The staff and teachers are amazing with the kids. One of my son’s has a learning disability and his teacher changed his curriculum many times to see what best works for him. Our other son is a extremely energetic and has managed (thanks to the teachers ) to stay focused in school. I’m so thankful we found this place!
My children have attended Streetsville since they were infants. We chose Streetsville because of the small ratio and “family” feel. The staff and director are very involved and have a good grasp on child development. Some parents may complain that they’re over-diagnosing kids but they were correct with my kid. It’s never easy to think that something might be “off” with our kids. Because of their watchful eye, my kid got early intervention and is functioning well.
I attended this school as a child, the staff was wonderful during my attendance. I have never forgotten about the time I spent there (early 00s.)
Worst experience sending my child to the preschool here. The owners are rude and are out to make money off with false diagnosis to your child. They are running a business to make money of your benefits by claiming your child may have some sort of a learning disability. I feel horrible & guilty for letting my child attend Streetsville Academy. They not only stressed us out but also traumatized my child as well. I really hope karma serves them!!
An awesome experience for both my boys at this school. The annual spring show allows the youth to contribute no matter what their age. A great experience and memory for everyone involved. They have partnerships with other services to allow for additional learning and if need be developmental diagnosis and support. I fully recommend the school and staff.
My son went to Streetsville Academy from 16 months until the end of Grade 1. The school is always aware of the development of all the students, which had a huge impact on my son. When he left Streetsville he was well above his grade level.
The teachers are dedicated to the highest standard of achievement suited for each child. At the same time, the teachers and staff model and teach kindness, responsible leadership; and consideration for the other- values that can be easily missed at other schools. Their performing arts program and annual spring show instill confidence and self-advocacy at a very young age. My child attended Streetville for 7 years- she is now a confident, intelligent and self-motivated tween.
Excellent education, year round learning. Plenty of activities &. experiences for the kids. Annual spring show where the children (as young as 2) dress up & sing/dance on stage..a highlight of the year for everyone, truly remarkable! Family oriented facility. In tune with developmental concerns, & able to help guide the family to appropriate care. Our new school pointed out the wonderful coping skills our son has Thx to SCC. Highly recommend, staff & teaching are superior.
I would never recommend this school to anyone. They have some really great ECE’s and RECE’s but the owners of this institution are unfit to run a school. They attempt to diagnose children with non-existent issues so they can generate income for other health professionals (OT/PT). The owners are exceptionally rude and should not have the privilege of working with children.
Horrible experience at Streetsville Children’s Centre. Teachers were unprofessional, and our family had to deal with racially insensitive comments.
There is NOWHERE that compares to this daycare. Yes, they are strict... IT WORKS. They run a highly productive, educational, and caring environment. My kids have both attended since 10 months of age, and excel way above other peers their age. The owners are there day in and day out, busting their chops. On top of that, they go above and beyond to accommodate and help you personally in any way they can. They have made us feel like family from day one. STRONGLY recommend this daycare, hands down.
They are not trained psychologist or doctors but are so quick to put a diagnosis on your child. Where they can benefit from making more money.
Pros: The safety protocol means that strangers cannot enter the premises. Very secure at the front entrance Cons: This daycare prides themselves on being the only facility that still offers academic based learning while most others are using a play-based style. News flash... there is a reason why no one uses academic based learning with young children anymore. They focus way too much on academic milestones which creates a stressful environment for the children and the parents.
