Many visitors to Doll Factory by Damzels are in distress when they turn to the in-house fashion label, Damzels in this Dress.
“Generally, dress emergencies happen like this: I’m on my way somewhere right now, and I’ve just heard that I’m supposed to look nicer than I thought,” explains co-owner Rory Lindo, who founded Damzels in this Dress in 1994 with fellow George Brown College graduate Kelly Freeman.
Stop in at one of Doll Factory’s two Toronto locations, “and you can look beautiful for any occasion. We have dresses — that’s what we do best — pantyhose, shoes and hair accessories. We can accomplish anything.”
Damzels' clothing will bring out your inner ferocity with an edginess to it that makes women look as strong and tough as they really are. The clothing is cut to hug feminine curves but there’s nothing sweet or innocent about the garb. The shop is full of gorgeous dresses, shirts, pants and accessories to suit every personality and prices so reasonable you’ll think you’re staging a robbery.
When a good girl wants a hint of mischief, she buys a dress from Doll Factory. These garments hug the female silhouette yet provide a noticeable rock ‘n’ roll edge. Most dresses promise a certain look when they’re still on a hanger and then fail to deliver, but not here. If you want the pin-up look, you’ll get the pin-up look. Hardest part is keeping your dress spree in single digits.
