Ganto Sushi welcomes you to their restaurant. They are open after-hours from Monday to Saturday. You can get there by public transit and bicycle. They are established in a neighborhood filled with restaurants, stores and parks.
I live near Queen and Spadina and have had some difficulty with finding decent low-medium priced sushi. Toshi is across from where I take spin class and I noticed that the sign indicated that the chef was Japanese so I decided to try it out. I found the fish to be fresh, the restaurant to be clean and the service to be attentive. They service appropriately sized rolls and nigiri, as opposed to the giant pieces that many other establishments serve (this is a good think IMO). Overall, very good meal and I think I will be frequenting Toshi a great deal.

My new favourite sushi spot! Looks like any old run of the mill sushi place, and the prices are around average, but the quality is leagues ahead. The eggplant in miso was hot, soft and sweet, highly recommended. The cod was okay- a small piece blackened at the edges, very tart and flavourful but nothing amazing. The tempura was good in theory: came with shrimp, yam, green bean, onion, and lotus root- good but a little *too* crispy/battered. The sushi was *great*. The butterfish was cut perfectly and very fresh, the foie gras was a nicely sizes piece and melt-in-your-mouth. Spicy tuna rolls were also fresh and done perfectly, with firm rice and the perfect spicy mayo. The ginger ice cream was average but had yummy chunks of crysalized fresh ginger. Amazing value for the price, I'll be back.
