I'm a regular customer at Teremok because I simply love the food. Perogies and borsht are delicious. we usually go there after the lunch rush around 1pm, and it's not busy.
Good homey food, deli sandwiches are really fresh and inexpensive. Soups are great for cold days especially the borscht.
I used to work in the same plaza as the Teremok cafe, and my husband would often meet me for lunch there. Overall, the food is very good. I'm not very familiar with Ukranian food, but I think it's quite authentic. She also offers deli-style sandwiches, if you're in the mood for a run of the mill BLT. However.... the lady who owns it is kind of a meanie. I think she just gets frustrated quickly, and her english is only mediocre. Her restaurant is also WAY too busy to be run by only herself, and her husband cooking in the kitchen. The wait is terribly long. That said, I definately ate there at least 3 times a week when I was working there, so it can't have been that bad! Make sure you order the Borscht... she tops it with sour cream and dill... soooooo yummy!
I'd eaten here before, and I remembered it being tasty. (I don't remember what I had.) The decor was simple and homey, and I think the service was decent. The second time I visited Teremok, I bought a bag of perogies. After I walked out the door, the owner ran out and accused me of stealing them. I showed her the change she had given me a few minutes earlier, and my friend (who also bought a bag of perogies) vouched for me. She refused to believe us and was very rude about it. When I told her that I wasn't going to pay for the perogies twice, she stormed back in. The perogies were very good, but not good enough to justify that kind of service.
One of my favourite places for lunch. I like their homemade soups, very filling and delicious! Meatball soup is the best! Regards, Mr. Summerville, Waterloo
I am not sure what was so Russian about the restaurant besides the owner and a few items.
Great food, homemade and so fresh! Soup is different, not your regular chicken noodle. Perogies are fresh and dough is not chewy like from grocery store.... Cheesecake is soooo tasty... I will definitely come back....
i also bought some frozen perogies to take home with me. great idea- less headache for me when i have to cook a dinner...:)
I love Ukranian food and this stuff is fresh and delicious. Service with a smile, although you do pay at the counter and wait for your food while sitting down. It's always very busy at lunch, so if you want a table, be there by 12 or so.
Clean, quite place! Friendly owners Delicious food!
The food was to die for!! All homemade and very tasty. I highly recommend the borsch soup. Service was a bit slow, seemed to be only one lady taking orders and serving be worth the wait. I will definatley return.
