The world of fantasy and role-playing board games (RPGs) has come a long way since the days when groups of friends would quietly meet after school to play Dungeons and Dragons at kitchen tables.
When Philip Arthur Campbell moved from Calgary to Montreal with his husband Brendan John Purdie in 2008, both were actively involved in the gaming culture there, and wanted to recreate the atmosphere of a games store in Calgary they regularly visited.
In 2011 they opened a games store in N.D.G., then moved to their current Sherbrooke Street location in October of 2013, where they expanded the store into a larger café.
