When Cindy Reason suddenly decided to ditch her high-stress life for a Costa Rican jungle retreat, she could barely touch her toes, let alone connect with her inner self. “I definitely wasn’t born a yoga teacher,” she admits. “But then there’s no pre-requisite to do this. It comes with practice.”
Taking her own midlife lessons to heart, the 30-year-old founder of Yoga Club continues to believe you can’t metaphysically bombard students into appreciating the 5000-year-old practice until they are ready to embrace it.
Instead, by offering a healthy variety of hatha flow, yin, barre and power yoga classes from her quaint studio and health boutique bar in Rosemont, Cindy prefers to guide clients of all physical, psychological and spiritual stripes through a more gradual fusion of body and mind. “My goal is to make the practice accessible to everybody, to give them what they came for and just feed them the rest slowly.”
