Boutique Citrouille

On Laurier Avenue, in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal, lies a little store with the power to awaken the child in all of us. Since 1999, Boutique Citrouille has been offering children of all ages a range of classic wooden toys that some of the grown-ups among us will remember with joy.

Hugues has been the owner of Boutique Citrouille since 2012. It is through the serendipity of random meetings that he came to take the reins of a store that always aimed to offer toys and games that go beyond time and trends. “They are objects that I truly love,” Hugues explains. “Those of us who are of a certain age will recognize toys from their childhood, like spinning tops and dolls. I like the idea that that they will be part of a history. They are the kind of things with which you build a strong bond. They often get passed down through the generations and gain sentimental value as the years go by.”
