Best known for its tremendous selection of books, Chapters also has an impressive stock of notebooks, notepads and notecards. The store carries well-known brands, such as Anna Rifle Bond, Moleskine and Kate Spade but it also has many inexpensive, totally fun stationery options to chose from, as well. If you can’t make it out to the St. Albert location, there are eight Chapters stores found throughout the Edmonton region.
Found in City Centre Mall, close to the food court, Papyrus is a great place to shop for seasonal stationery items. This store, which is primarily a card and gift wrap shop, also offers personalized stationery and a large selection of boxed notecards throughout the year. A trusted source for elegant, fun, or professional looking correspondence, Papyrus will entice you with it’s vast array of stationery options available at your fingertips.
On Whyte Avenue, you’ll find Chicken Scratch, a shop full of fun, whimsy stuff, and some really cool stationery items, too. Journals, address books, notecards (including some that are made by local artisans) and unique notebooks line the shelves of this quirky store. Chicken Scratch may be small in size, but it’s big in heart, and is one of those retail spots that makes Whyte Ave a special place to be.
Crimson Quill Gifts has been a part of St. Albert’s bustling Perron District, in the city’s downtown core, for some time. Though they also offer contemporary styles, this store specializes in journals and notebooks you don’t see just anywhere; available on a regular basis are handmade Phasha journals from India, Celtic or mythical styled notebooks and refillable leather books. The store also sells calligraphy supplies, such as quills and fountain pens.
Though it may not come to mind when first thinking where to buy stationery supplies, Home Sense has some very affordable options in store. In their stationery section, you will usually find wonderfully priced and one-of-a-kind journals, notecards, address books and day-timers. Since Home Sense’s stock is continuously changing, you may even find the stationery gods smiling down on you during your next visit, and scoop up some hard-to-find pens, stickers or crafting supplies to give your stationery some extra pizzazz.
A staple of Jasper Avenue, Audrey’s Book Store has been around for four decades and is Edmonton’s oldest independently owned bookstore. Dedicated to providing its customers with an “authentic book store experience,” Audrey’s also gives its customers an experience in buying unique journals, agendas and notebooks, as well.
The Artworks is an alluring and unique shop, located in City Centre Mall (although there is no entrance from the mall itself, you can only access the store via 103A Avenue). When you first walk in, you’re greeted by absolutely stunning floral arrangements (the store is also floral shop, as well); inside you’ll find a nice collection of stationery items and other things, like collectibles, books and fashion accessories. This place is a must-visit for stationery lovers when in the downtown Edmonton core.
