I've visited this little sub and ice cream shop many times and it always has me feeling very satisfied, and warm inside cause I was able to help out a small mom and pop shop. The man working here, whom I've yet to get his name is a vibrant heat warming fella'. Very friendly, makes you feel like a regular. The food, great! I can't believe anyone would rate this place poorly, for what it is its FANTASTIC. I've tried almost all the subs on the menu, my most recent visit I got the rib sub for myself, loaded it up with all the toppings, made a huge mess eating it and loved every minute of it. Its places and eats like this that make life all worth while, yes its a big statement I know but its truly a gem. Something has to be done right to get consistent high ratings. I was shocked to see someone write a poor review on this place knowing full well what they were getting into. These are the comfort foods that are hard to come by in this day and age with big franchised companies saturating the industry. From street meat to racks of lamb, I've had it all and this place gets my approval! I will be coming back and I'm bringing a crowd. Wheres Anthony Bourdain when you need him? p.s. After learning I would be dining alone tonight, I decided to try a tiny little place I had heard mentioned recently. My waiter was attentive, pleasant and quite knowledgeable about the food he was serving. The overall atmosphere was pleasing and would be the perfect setting for a romantic meal. The choices offered, combined with the soothing surroundings peaked my curiousity enough that I decide for the second time in the evening to try something new. I tried the Bison burger with Warm Potato salad. The server described it to me as a Bison burger with caramelized onions, smoked cheddar, truffle scented mushrooms and barbecue sauce. Jake & Humphreys make all their own bread items that appear on their menu, the combination of the Bison, toppings on a fresh and soft bun, made the whole item a palate pleaser. A nice glass of South African Cabernet Sauvignon enhanced what was already a sumptious dining experience. I will be returning to the restaurant again, definitely a great place to dine, relax and enjoy. Perhaps next time I will take someone with me or perhaps I will again go and enjoy another romantic meal for one! Hopefully next time I have room for dessert as they looked promising! Read more

we went for a friend's birthday dinner. her and her bf love the place. they talk about it all the time. i have heard mixed reviews about the place. going online and checking out menu didn't look too appealing to me. regular food with a high price and over stuffed with "expensive" words for simple ingredients i had a glass of the Chardonnay from usa. excellent should have order 1.2 liter. i shared the sicilian mussel except made not spicy (don't like spicy food). the broth has aromatic and delightful. nice tomatoes, olives and onion broth. mussels were plump and tasty. the table bread was amazing. i usually steer away from bread because it is dry and garbage. but this was warm, soft and fluffy in the middle with a slight chew and crispy on outside. i ordered the shrimp and scallop carciofi (fettucine) made without cream and with tomato instead. the pasta was cooked perfectly, scallops a bit fishy, shrimps were poached perfectly. a bit too much tomato but im a bigger fan of cooked pasta perfect el dente. people sitting around me ordered veggie gnocchi (she loved it), short rib gnocchi (he wolfed it down and wanted more), prosciutto fuselli (she said pasta was amazing too slow portion and prosciutto tasted like bacon, pork chop dinner (thought it was amazing), smoked chicken el la vodka (he said was ok). food was good better than i expected. a bit over priced but it was a friend's birthday.
