We decided to try Waldos for valentines dinner and was pleasantly surprised. My wife and I selected from the set menu and chose the steak. The appetizers were great, baked brie, smoked salmon salad and lobster bisque were all very nice. Our meal arrived and was cooked to perfection. The steak was exactly as we asked, asparagus was cooked perfectly as were the roasted potatoes.
As our meal was to be followed by attending a play at the Grand Theatre, our time was limited. Joe, our server, was a great representative of the restaurant and ensured that we were served in a timely fashion. Time ran short and since we could not take the set dessert with us... Joe arranged for us to have a different dessert to take with us. Joe was a great guy who helped make the evening a success. The only suggestion would be for the restaurant to have complimentary roses for all the ladies in attendance. We will certainly return again soon.

The Dawghouse is an awesome place to be. The wait staff are long-timers and know everyone. It’s a regular Cheers! So many regulars’ daily... including me. Prices are great the best dish is their Fireside Chicken dinner... their BLT. has 1/2 lb of bacon it in and their wings are always cooked to perfection. Atmosphere is so good. I find myself at this place multiple times during the week. I go for breakfast one day, lunch the next, and then for dinner another day, and I'm usually there for the nights events. They have great concerts, great food, the staff, at least the bartenders and bouncers are all fantastic and some of my good friends, and the service is more often than not fast and helpful. Just the other day after going to this place for a year and a half, had my first bad experience with service, but after mentioning it to the manager, everything got sorted out and I still had an excellent meal even though it was a bit slower than usual.
And their drinks are fantastic. I've only had one bad drink there and that was after they just started a new barrel so the beer was a bit watery - I just asked for a new one and they gave it to me no problem.
I can't say enough good things about this place. I never turn down an invite to this place.

A pleasant stop if you are in Ilderton, and especially if you are a fan of a pub atmosphere and cask conditioned ale. I've been here several times, and I usually stick with the nachos because they are a great value and are also quite tasty. But I have had the Steak and Guinness Pie which is also quite the treat. Service has always been great when I have been. I always get a few pints of cask ale when I go, and am never disappointed. It is always fresh and well kept. Rich is a true cellarmaster and knows his beer. As a result, this is a destination for lovers of true cask ale, and the only place in the south west of Ontario to try this unique style of ale.
The atmosphere is comfy, nice booths, a bar to sit at, a seperate room with televisions for those inclined to watch a game, and there is also a large screen in the main room for the larger events.
Overall, highly a recommended stop if you are in Ilderton or area. No where else near here can you get cask ale, great service, and really tasty food. I'll be back!
