Great place for a quick grab-and-go. Located in the heart of downtown, for the price you pay, the food is adequate and it offers a great variety of Vietnamese food. I have been to Golden Basil twice in the last month...both times I had very enjoyable meals..maybe not the best Thai food that I've ever had but certainly adequate. Actually, more than adequate. Portion size is generous...food is tasty, service both times was prompt and efficent...atmosphere leaves a little to be desired..but this is a great place for a quick lunch. I would recommend.

Picture a really good Mandarin. AYCE with great taste and prices. Yes the service is slow but the place is clean and nice. The food is top notch for ayce. Not much MSG and not too salty unlike many other places that makes the fish sauce & food too salty with too much MSG. Highly recommend this place & would come again. I've eaten here a lot over the years and I just love the food. They give you a lot of food and it is very inexpensive. The vermicelli are wonderful especially with the jumbo shrimps. The coconut and durian shakes are amazing but I've unconsciously switched over to water over the years, I think im just self conscious about my weight. All the waitresses speak english but not too fluently but they are nice enough. Overall I love going to this place for the food they serve.

I liked Pho Hung. The staff is friendly and helpful, it was nice when he suggested I not get the fish soup as it maybe more on the fishy side. I got the veggie spring rolls which were very nice a little on the greasy side but tasted good after soaking in napkins for the extra oil. My veggie pho was really good!! the vermicelli looked good as well. we got lots of food and for $23 including tip for two people, who can beat that!!!
