I've been eating there since it opened and their quality and great service have been consistent since day 1. Our "go to" meal for two is the medium Sushi Moriawase which is a 30 piece assortment of sushi and maki, a small salad and miso soup. Faced with an 8 page menu, exhaustive in its range of enticing descriptions of Japanese and Korean food, I opted to sample the former side by having soup, salad and appetizers (3 as it turned out). I love miso soup and have had incarnations of it in many places in Canada and abroad but this broth was simply fabulous in the depth and complexity of what is often a flat, watery introduction to a meal. The poky salad (fresh tuna, julienned seaweed, etc.) was vibrant, flavourful and spicy as advertised. I started my appetizer foray with mandu yaki (small homemade dumplings with a combo of 8 different ingredients) and tako yaki (fried minced octopus balls with a unagi and katsu sauce on the side). Can you say FABULOUS?. Having washed it all down with warm sake, I rested for a while and then tackled a tempura dish: soft shelled crab (4 pieces) with a ponzu sauce. Cheer again. Service was attentive and friendly and relaxed especially when the young lady and John, the son of the owner realized that I wasn't in a hurry. (I was honoured with a tempura zucchini sample from the owner's garden (in the back he said when I mentioned that he had tomatoes growing in the front). This is simply wonderful food, presented with smiles and pride by people who love doing what they do. I can't wait to return and try some deeply Korean dishes of which there is an abundance on that wide-ranging menu. Read more

Hey Legend fans, enough! Don't spread the word anymore or we will all regret it and just have to resort to take-out. Our favourite little lunch spot was fully jammed this Wednesday at noon. We were lucky to get the last available table. In spite of the crowd service was almost as prompt as usual thanks to the cheerful senior server with only a beginner helping him, - sort of, out front. I very conveniently live down the street from Lemon Grass, and as such find myself getting takeout from there frequently, and if I have the time I do like going in to sit for a meal. The food is always hot and fresh, and absolutely delicious. As a student, I appreciate that their costs of meals are really affordable, considering that there are almsot always left overs due to their generous portions. My absolute favourite is the spicy pad thai. It is sweet and spicy and has lots of chicken and shrimp, as well as bell peppers and onions and carrots. Absolutely delicious. All of their crispy chicken and duck dishes are delicious, they have a range of sauces that they prepare for whatever mood you are in. As far as appetizers go, they have mouth watering spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce, and fresh salad rolls with their addictive peanut butter sauce. The crispy wontons and mango salad shouldn't be skipped either, which is why I love their appetizer combo platter; 5 different appetizers to share with the table for only 12 bucks! Great value. The line ups can be long on weekends because it is a small space, but it is most definitely worth it. The service is fast and friendly, exactly what you want in a restaurant. They just redid all of the inside and it is a really lovely place to sit and eat dinner. With Lemon Grass, you really can't go wrong! Read more
