We tried this place (Hap's Hungry House) for the first time over the weekend and all I can say is 'what took us so long?'. A great independent breakfast establishment that puts Denny's or Smitty's to shame - good value and great service in a friendly, unpretentious atmosphere.

The portions are huge! It is the place to go if you are hungry. The food is absolutely great, and i was well taken care of. The staff are great, especially a male host who is very tall, he seemed to work very hard, he was great, and in a very cheerful mood when I was there.
I also think the coffee krafts [pots] are a great touch!
Breakfast doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes you want wholesome cuisine; other times, you crave greasy and hearty. The menu at Hap's is simple but extensive with super reasonable prices. For the indecisive, or those with big appetites, their Hunger Busters offer a huge platter of food that give you a bit of everything.
This place has a massive breakfast menu, but we recommend the French toast. It’s three slices of bread coated in their special
egg batter and grilled to perfection. You can opt for strawberries and whipped cream or raisin bread for an extra charge. It’s simple but delicious.
Their hotcake combos are perfect for the hungry (wo)man in all of us. On a really hungry day, I go for the large combo (two eggs, three hotcakes) and either ham or a sausage link.
