'Greenfields in areas north of these US states will keep the old/new crop basis transition interesting for a few more weeks.US corn export numbers today did not do much to impress the markets although they did come in within expectations. They were solid but unspectacular. We need to sell/ship about 850,000 metric tons per week to keep pace with USDA projections. Soybean demand however remains strong with another USDA announcement of 110 tmt of 14/15 US soybeans sold to China this morning.This mornings export sales report certainly wasnt what the bulls wanted to see in wheat, with only 314,000 mmt in total sales, which was well under expectations for 500-700,000 this week.more...See more text
