Food quality is fair, not worth the price. Oyster has worm on the shell which it’s a longggg one !!! The staff took it to the kitchen and came back to us with the same oyster which has remove the worm and told us didn’t see anything. Glad that I took picture as a prove. Won’t come back to this place. Please see the right side on the photo for the worm
Their chirashi is the best in Scarborough, fresh sashimi on top of rice and bbq eel under the rice. You can have a light green tea cake(my favorite) after your meal. However, I found their prices are higher than before, now their chirashi doesn't has a good value as before. I'm not sure whether I'll visit again or not.
The restaurant closes early at 8:30pm, but they still served our party of 7 when we walked in at 7:50pm. The food was excellent, or maybe we were just very hungry. Overall portion was small, but tastes excellent. Worth to mention is the Chirashi Rice, there are two types, one with a special salad which costs a bit more. But the Chirashi is excellent, plenty of good sashimi, with a hidden gem of fried egg and Eel hidden beneath it, a very pleasant surprise! and with the dinner set, you get Salad, Miso Soup, Coffee/Tea, and Cake. The Chocolate Sakecake is a special mention!
I tried the sashimi dinner and it was nice, it's a bit expensive for the amount of portions, but the quality of the sashimi was nice. I was unimpressed with the curry rice, even more so because a lot of the menu content were gone due to the night ending, but I would go back again to try the Unagi rice and Umi. I also didn't like the wine offered. The cake was great though! Very delicious.
The sashimi dinner is fantastic. The new owner is Japanese and everything is authentic and fresh. His sister is starting to make the desserts and they taste amazing.
My friend ordered a chirashi don and I ordered the premium nigri sushi. Each meal cost $28 (most expensive item on menu) including soup salad dinner and dessert from their display case. I also ordered a Blue Mountain coffee (approximately $5). They also have cheaper set meals (non - sushi) for about $15. I really liked my dish and so did my friend. It is a small but quaint restaurant/ cafe with simple decor. Reservations are highly recommended. Big parties are not recommended. It's a great place to meet and chat with a party of two or four. The service was great. I would definitely go back. This place is also great for afternoon tea.
