Log Cabin Inn

We've been to many 5 star restaurants in downtown Toronto and we would take the Log Cabin over any of them. The chef is a master of Soups and presentation. The specials were varied and tasted exceptionally good . The unique atmosphere of the restaurant is extremely comfortable with classy decor that suits the environment. I highly recommend the place, its worth the trip. Mike & Bev

Awesome. Upscale menu with a beautiful, relaxed environment. Stayed at the motel. Rooms were clean, and spacious.

Surly Manager Ruined Our Dinner

We were in Parry Sound for a wedding and decided to have dinner at the Log Cabin Inn the day following the wedding (Sunday). We were a group of 11 adults and two children and half of our group was staying at a local hotel which offered a discount coupon for the restaurant. The coupon had no clauses or disclaimers regarding the size of group or any other limitations, for that matter. When we arrived, I presented the coupon to our waiter who accepted the coupon and took our order. Shortly thereafter, the female manager came to our table and confronted me, in front of everybody at our table, in a loud and hostile manner about how the coupon was valid for only one person and she refused to extend the discount to our whole order, on the basis that it was only offered to guests of the hotel where we got the coupon (as I mentioned, there was no mention of this on the actual coupon). Needless to say, I found this to be a deeply embarrassing and humiliating situation and sunk into my seat at the treatment I received and I certainly was not about to engage in a unsightly argument in front of my family , new in-laws and their friends. The manager could have been far more discreet and courteous in handling this situation and why did the restaurant offer this promotion if they had no intention of honoring it? The food was pedestrian and hardly justified the price tag and the restaurant itself is pure faux rustic kitsch. I often eat out and enjoy good food and I’ve never written a restaurant review before because if I don’t like a restaurant, Ill simply never return but I feel my experience at the Log Cabin Inn was, for me, a new low.

Up scale casual

Had a wonderful evening. We arrived later than a usual dinner hour so it was nice to see a full menu still available and the service was exceptional. The best crab cakes we have ever had could have just stopped by for those anytime for a snack and been happy. Will be certain to come by again a place that you can feel just as comfortable in jeans and a sweater as you would in dress and suit. Thank you, Kelly O'Brien

We were visiting Parry Sound for a long weekend...

We were visiting Parry Sound for a long weekend getaway and wanted a nice restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner. The Log Cabin Inn exceeded our expectations. We had eaten at another local resort the previous night and it was very standard...nothing special. Everything at the Log Cabin Inn was above standard and very enjoyable. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. The wine was lovely and the appetizer unusual. We enjoyed everything, including the attentive, prompt service and would have loved to have had room to enjoy dessert as well! Dinner with a generous tip was around $115 for the two of us and we enjoyed being able to dress casually (no tie or jacket required).
