Nestled on the Danforth, Detroit Eatery serves up one of the best burgers in town and is known for its classic sports pub fare. "We’re often cited as one of the best burger joints in Toronto, and with reason: ours are very rich and tasty, definitely not to be missed," says Chris Amtaras, the restaurant-bar’s owner.
The place, at its best when Hockey Night In Canada is on (preferably when the Leafs clash with Motor City’s Red Wings), also cooks up classic sports bar fare like chicken wings, souvlaki and fries ― basically everything that goes nicely with a pitcher of cold beer while watching the big game with friends.
"We’re big hockey fans here, so obviously the place is themed around sports. We’ve had the Stanley Cup down here a couple of times; when the Red Wings won it, they brought it over. It’s definitely the kind of unpretentious place where you can gather around cold beer and wings to watch the game. It’s pretty small too, so it fills up quickly; the atmosphere is always very lively and festive."
Everything here is homemade, and the food attracts diners at every hour of the day. "We serve a great and very popular breakfast, which features French toast and pancakes, at any hour," Chris adds.

A real Great Hamburger which was what I was looking for. I Brought my Daughter with me who is also a Hamgerburger lover she too found itv a great hamgerburger. The french fries though froozen good ones but froozen a dissapointment. But I will return for the hamburger.
Best burger in the world. I am an expatriate Torontonian living in France. The thing I miss most about my hometown is the Detroit burger.peameal and cheese on a glorious patty. Miss Chris and the gang there as well.
The Detroit Eatery is for hungry, hockey fans, kids of all ages and anyone who wants a good home cooked meal! From great daily specials to the best burgers, salads and chicken breasts - I've even had the liver and it was superb! Detroit's diner chic adds to the mix. Chris, and his father Alex, are always friendly and super kind to kids. We love having The Detroit Eatery in our neighbourhood!
Service was friendly, the place was packed , i enjoyed looking at all the old hockey memorabilia the food was very good, the kind of thing you get at a dinner on a good truck stop the burger was a homemade with a bit of a twist. shake was good . and the bacon was thick and crispy Good value good real old style dinner
If you're a hockey fan then you should enjoy the burgers because they taste like hockey pucks. The coleslaw tasted like it came from someone's lawn after they mowed it. The onion rings were greasy and the fries were just your typical frozen kind. Signed hockey memorabilia doesn't make for great food and this place doesn't have it even if the prices are better than other burger joints. Don't waste your time or money.
Just moved here from Detroit and this place makes me feel like im back at home. Loved it,great food would totally go back next week.
I love this place! The food is awesome and the owner is awesome. Lots of Detroit Red Wings items collected over many years. The Stanley cup made its way here to this restaurant and I was there to see Kris Draper and the Stanley cup. I love it when we go here.
There is no better home made burger in the city. I travel from Aurora just to enjoy this beauty.

This odd spot is a tribute to all things Detroit – especially the Red Wings. While some may view this place as a burger joint or maybe a dive bar, it doesn’t stop Danforth locals from enjoying some pretty good breakfast plates all day. The choices include standard diner fare ranging from steak and eggs to French toast, and there are several menu items that are offered at affordable prices.
