I took my girlfriend here for the first time and neither of us knew what to expect. She was really excited to go out and I wasn't sure if this restaurant was the greatest. When we got in, it was a shock to both of us that a restaurant could look this good! Our server was great and really tried to make us feel welcome, my girlfriend and I enjoyed this a lot. The food was great, we shared a lamb shank so that we had room for dessert, which turned out to be the fruit plate. The food came quickly and even though I did not book a reservation, it wasn't a long wait to get a table. I had a wonderful time with my girlfriend and hope to go back soon!
I heard so much hype from people prior to going here. I work just down the street & decided to try it out on a Thursday evening. I really like the atmosphere with all the lights & enjoyed the lay out as well. This restaurant boasts on their healthy yet tasty menu options. I had grilled calamari which was really good & for my main coarse I had their "bunless Burger". I was expecting much more more for 21.00. It was basically a small beef patty with a little green on the side. I mean I could went down the street to the fast food joint & got a better deal. Our server was really nice, but a little too chatty for my liking. Don't get me, I don't mind a little small talk here & there, but she just kept talking about how she was from out east & how different life's here in the big city. That had an affect on the overall service because she was more interested in shooting the breeze than doing her job. Overall I would skip this place for a serious meal. It's ok for apps & drinks but their food is just not worth it.
Friday night, no reservation, but seated promptly at 7:00 as we walked in the door. Crab cakes were fine, mushroom salad ok, but the most outstanding part of the meal was the special. Ahi tuna done sushi rare, and pan seared scallops on a bed of tomato, olives and white bean ragu. Very good. Waiter friendly and informative.
I probably should have written this sooner after visiting there. My memory is a tad foggy, so i'll keep my comments very general. The restaurant was very busy on the Friday night we went (Month ago). I got the impression it was always like this, especially on weekends. We didn't make a reservation, so we had wine at the bar (They had wine menus). Shortly thereafter we were seated at a table close to the patio doors. It's a very nice restaurant. Loved the changing ceiling light colours. Gave the place a warm feeling. It was chilly that night, and people were still on the patio under the heating lamps. Appetizers came in good time. Entrees came in good time. The desserts came in a selection of mousses and cakes with cream, etc.. They were in glasses slightly bigger than shot glasses. We chose two, and they were very nice. Maybe a tad pricey for the size of the dessert. Service was excellent and attentive. Our server was very helpful and quite funny. Will definitely go back and sit on the patio. Perhaps when summer rolls around.
