Oldfield, Greaves, D'Agostino is a firm of lawyers who practice law in the historic "Erb-Kumpf house." The home was built by Abraham Erb...the founder of Waterloo...who came to the area in 1805, established a sawmill in 1808 and hand built the house as his family home. There are suggestions that the oldest part of the home predates 1812 and was eventually built in sections to house two other important Waterloo families, that of Benjamin Devitt and Christian Kumpf (who were both former mayors). The building in its present form is shown on an outline of a map drawn in 1855 (before the village of Waterloo existed). Of particular historical and architectural interest are the two-story veranda, the latticework, and barge board on the wings on either side of the center section. The firm has practiced law in this building since moving there in 1979.more...See more text
