We order mostly take-out from here, but we've eaten in the dining room and like the atmosphere of the place. The food is good - not spectacular, but decent. The one complaint I have about eating in is the service. We've gotten the same waitress every time, and she's not very good as far as waitressing goes. She rarely comes back to ask if you need refills on drinks, or anything else. She always seems angry, or stressed, which doesn't make for the most relaxing meal. One thing that is delicious is their deep fried banana cheesecake! Never had anything like it anywhere else, and it's so yum. We'd still go back to eat in, but I prefer take-out from here. The waitress scares me :)
One my favorite restaurants in Whitby is Melanie Pringle's. My husband and I dine out often and we often choose Mel's. His favorite is the meatloaf and mashed. A hearty, traditional meal that Melanie serves to perfection. Mine is the vegetable fajita's. The menu is extensive and your bound to find something to make your favorite. We enjoy the 50's atmosphere and the popcorn machine at the front door that help's tide you over till dinner arrives. Which is not a long wait. Even when it's packed with a line-up its worth it. The service always make you feel like your not waiting long at all. Service is attentive, friendly and overall just great. So if your looking for a reasonably priced meal with the family check out Melanie Pringle's. My review is five stars.
Love this place. Go there often. Dining room is cool with a real 57 Chevy in length coming out of the wall. I hang out much more in the bar which is simply put a cool/good place to go have some drinks. I've tried many menu items and have never had what i'd call a bad meal. Of many likes my #1 is the Chicken Penne Bake. I have yet to try the Chicken Parm but it happens to be my mother's favourite.
Went into this establishment with some great expectations, the atmosphere was a great diner style but that's where it kind of ended for my group. The service was terrible, I try not to be so harsh since i was a server myself for 5 years as a student, but it was slow, rude, and had terrible timing. Our waitress nothing short of demanded our orders instead of asking, did not come to check up on how our meals where and was terribly slow at getting the meal. The food was worse i regret to say. The pasta sauce , Alfredo, which is supposed to be a cream sauce looked like it was coated on as a thick salad dressing, someone must have filled it with flour. The chicken Parmesan, i took one bite and could not stomach it, it did not taste like chicken and i lost my appetite. The stemware and plates were damaged too, throw it out when its gone bad-it makes even a good plate look bad. All in all it was not a good experience and I'm sad that i wasted my family's time and our money at this place. We won't be going back
My boyfiend and I went here once before but the second time we were not impressed. We both had cesear salads and there was wayyyy too much dressing and the crutons were stale. He ordered a hot sandwich, and she wrote it down as a steak sandwich which came out disgusting.. dont ever order their steak sandwich, but he ate it anyway without telling her its not what he ordered. I had the meditteranean wrapper and it was dripping....... thats disgusting..
