Reda Wahba spent years working in steakhouses - fitting, since his father Mohamed owned a few. After the 2009 recession, they started to see that people weren't spending as much on four-course dinners as they used to - when eating out, diners wanted to be able to feed the whole family for under $30.
Both father and son felt that few restaurants served burgers right, and soon, they were toying with an idea for a new one of their own. "My father’s vision was fast food, mine was fine dining, so we mixed both," says Reda. Burger de Ville opened in Montreal-West in 2009. People quickly began lining up for their picture-perfect burgers, and the rapid success led the duo to open a second location on St. Laurent Street in Mile End and then a third in Anjou.
