Where all the cool kids hang out in Halifax
Yes, the pizzas are extreme. The Canadian Classic comes with bacon, mushrooms and pepperoni, while the Halifax-specific donair pizza features tomatoes, onions, and donair meat and sauce, but the real joys of Xtreme are its side dishes. Their namesake garlic fingers are basically a soft, doughy pizza covered in garlic, mozzarella cheese and garlic butter, while the massive panzarottis (get the one packed with locally-churned Brothers Pepperoni) can easily feed two for $11.

Pizza delivery! The best on the Halifax peninsula
Xtreme Pizza may not make the best pizza but they dazzle with their crazy combinations. The Thanksgiving Pizza, for example, comes topped with chicken, gravy, stuffing and onions with a side of cranberry sauce. Real bacon, Brothers’ pepperoni (and, get this: hot dogs!) are available as premium toppings. They have six types of garlic fingers, 12 varieties of poutine and 14 different burgers! The menu is huge! They also have some of the best hours, as delivery starts at 11 a.m. daily until 3 a.m. (4 a.m. Friday and Saturday).

Another great place to indulge in that guilty poutine pleasure is Xtreme Pizza. Located on Spring Garden Road, the decor isn’t fancy, consisting of booths and tables, but given its location, it is very popular with the university crowd. Xtreme serves a list of poutines, which includes chicken and donair poutines. While the food is far from gourmet, the poutine is pretty tasty, and this is a great spot to feed your hunger on a budget.
